Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended 2,164 primary fires in its latest reporting year, compared with 1,545 at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. Fatalities and non-fatal casualties from primary fires totalled 98 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight and 68 for Nottinghamshire.

Average time from call to first appliance at a dwelling fire is 8:54 in Hampshire and Isle of Wight and 8:26 in Nottinghamshire. Response times are broadly comparable. On enforcement activity, Nottinghamshire carried out the larger number of fire safety audits over the year (4,610 vs 2,920). Satisfactory-outcome rates were 59% for Hampshire and Isle of Wight and 83% for Nottinghamshire, covering audits that closed without requiring informal action, formal notice, or prohibition. False alarms make up a notably larger share of call-outs in Hampshire and Isle of Wight (50% vs 43%).
